About
Michael McMenomy is a sound designer for film, documentary and television. He graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelors Degree in Ethnomusicology in 1999, and received a Masters Degree in Film Sound from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in 2003.
Since then he has worked extensively as a sound editor, recording engineer and re-recording mixer. Recent work includes sound editing on Jim Loach's feature film Oranges and Sunshine, starring Emily Watson and Hugo Weaving, sound design on Alex Proyas's Knowing starring Nicholas Cage and Rose Byrne, and sound editing and mixing on Nash Edgerton's The Square, which received the 2009 Inside Film Award for Best Sound on a Feature Film.
Having spent 2009 working between Sydney and New York, Michael has permanently relocated to New York in 2010 to pursue his career in the US film and television industries.
